Sara obtained her Bachelor of Dental Science degree with honours from the University of Queensland in 2003 and worked in private dental practice in Brisbane for several years. Sara relocated to Melbourne to commence her specialist training in Endodontics at the University of Melbourne and received her Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics in 2009. Sara has spent the last 14 years practising in a Specialist Endodontic practice in the North Western suburbs of Melbourne, before starting her own specialist private practice in Alphington.

 

Sara is actively involved in a variety of endodontic professional associations. From 2012 to 2014, she held the position of Federal Secretary / Treasurer of the Australian Society of Endodontology (ASE Inc.). Following this, Sara continued to hold the Victorian Federal Councillor position of the ASE Inc. until 2017. Sara has also been involved in the Asian Pacifica Endodontic Confederation (APEC) has previously held the position of Treasurer of this association. From 2017 to 2020, Sara was the President of the ADA Victorian Branch, North West Group, where she organised continuing education lecture programs for dentists and dental specialists in the region. Sara has lectured and been involved with continuing education activities for the Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch (ADAVB), ASE, APEC, La Trobe University and The University of Melbourne. Sara is a member of the Australian Dental Association and The Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontist (ANZAE) and awarded fellowship of the International College of Dentists (FICD).

I grew up with my mother working tirelessly as a microbiologist. She spent her professional days looking down a microscope. This planted the seed for me to embark upon a career in Endodontics which also happens to encompass staring down a microscope. I am proud  to follow my mother’s footsteps.

Anne obtained her Bachelor of Dental Science degree with honours and was on the Dean’s honour list at the University of Melbourne in 2000. Anne was awarded prizes for Academic Excellence, and in Oral Surgery. Anne worked in private general dental practice in Essendon for three years before embarking on specialist training at The University of Melbourne. Throughout the course of her training, Anne developed a special interest in contemporary canal disinfection protocols which formed the basis of her thesis. In 2006, she completed her Clinical Doctorate and has been in specialist endodontic practice ever since. Subsequently her research was published in the International Endodontic Journal.

 

Anne has maintained a specialist endodontic practice in Melbourne’s North Western suburbs since 2007 and also at Albury Wodonga Endodontics which she started in 2007, servicing the needs of regional patients. She has a strong connection to regional Victoria.

 

Anne has lectured locally and internationally and has working voluntarily in Timor leste, Vietnam and Africa. Anne has served with the Australian Dental Association on several committees, as well as being President of the ADA State Branch. She continued to serve on the board of the evident Foundation for several years and remains passionate about dental research. Anne has enjoyed being involved in teaching undergraduate students at the University of Melbourne. She is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists, the Australian Dental Association and the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons. Anne has been awarded Fellowships with The Pierre Fauchard Academy, The Academy of Dentistry International and The International College of Dentists for her work in the dental profession.

As a child I had a congenitally black front tooth. It left me with an appreciation for conditions of the mouth and  motivated me to train as a dentist and subsequently an endodontist. As a kid I always enjoyed visiting our childhood dentist and I hope that our patients, young and old, leave with the same feeling when they visit us at Northside Endodontics.
